RV Life Winchester Bay Oregon

With 496 days of quarantine under our belt, when Oregon blessed private camp grounds to open, we started loading the RV. We had an idea of where we wanted to camp on the Oregon Coast, but had never explored that area before. My wonderful husband had found a RV Site that had availability, but it was dry camping and no paved roads. I am a huge advocate of having paved roads, so I can ride bikes and scoters with our kids. With that I took to my top-secret knowledge base for all things, Pinterest. After a few quick searches we found Winchester Bay RV Resort a great camp site Bay Side. Upon arrival I was very happy to see how gorgeous the surrounding area was. Everywhere you looked there is beautiful Oregon Coast views, mountains of pine trees, stretches of beach and a cute little marina! Plus, it has WiFi, Cell Service (AT&T) and full hook ups for the RV! We were lucky enough to score site 56, an oceanfront site, with winter rates it was $44/night. The grounds were super clean, and we had the honor of listening to waves all night long!

You can walk to beach in less than 5 minutes, starting from this paved path.

The property is great for kids, you can hear and see them from almost any camp spot, in addition there is a small playground, putting green and tons of green space for Bocce Ball. If you fish or crab, it seemed like a lot of people were catching their dinners off the pier. We walked to the beach in less than 5 minutes. My kids loved playing with the dead trees more than the waves.

Rumor has it during the summer, Winchester Bay RV Resort gets packed! There are tons of families, ATV’s and is just overall super fun camping chaos. There are tons of sand toys driving around,  and it is cool to watch them cruise by on their way to the dunes area. It is a quick mountain drive from Sutherlin, just over an hour.  We stayed there over the first weekend of May, it was quiet and serene, with a mix of sunshine and rain.

Our trip highlights, according to the the kids was playing at the beach, finding water Pokémon’s and scooter rides! My personal highlight, besides the nature was the Mexican Food we ordered for pick up. It was delicious, the best Mexican food I have had in Oregon!  Reservations are suggested especially if you want to be oceanfront. Happy Travels.
