The Name: Deliberately Classy

Typical morning for a busy mom, myself included, with old clumpy mascara:

Make Up, make a mental note that mascara is getting dry/old/empty, must buy/order more.

Bummer, I need mascara. Use old gross dry mascara.

If you are a mom or just a busy lady, you get my point. Mascara is essential, fresh mascara is preferred.

I wear mascara everyday. It is a staple in my world. I go through the two bottles about every 75-90 days.  This pattern of needing mascara repeats itself for days if not weeks before I actually drag myself to CVS. Yes, I have always preferred my 2 drug store mascaras verses any of the pricey ones sold at the mall. I have always used a big brush for my first layer and my small brush to catch all details with the second layer. When I go to CVS I always end up buying things I don’t need, who else has this problem? Like there is NO WAY for me to walk into a CVS and not buy make up (I do not need), a card, holiday things, something. So, my $15 in mascara becomes at least $25.

What if there was a premium mascara that could be shipped to me every ____ amount of days automatically, that was easy to delay or order early with a quick push of a button? What would the average women pay to have this service? Subscription mascara, so simple, but how could we get it to catch fire. This is where to fun begins.

The hardest part so far, I have to say was picking a name. It literally was a never-ending time of lists. Godaddy.com became my top used website. The rule: find a name that could be used for company or mascara, no premium fee would be paid (of course) and I wanted it to be catchy. After hundreds of different names, list, charts and whiteboard drawings my husband Neil says, how about: Deliberately Classy.

I liked it, it was a mouthful, but I really liked it and the added bonus is it has the same initials as me. The website was available and there were no hangtags on Instagram which was a huge bonus. The hard part is spelling deliberately. Man, sometimes saying deliberately is tough. After noodling on it for a week, I made the executive decision to buy the domain. I felt that the name was worth moving forward with even though it didn’t roll of your tongue. It is just such a cool concept, being Deliberately Classy holds a different meaning to everyone. Class is defined differently by each individual, and changes as your mature.  Being deliberately classy no matter your setting is a best practice for all strong female.
